Wood density calculator for rectangular boards and wedges

If you want to measure the density of a rectangular board, you can measure its size, thickness and mass and insert them in the following widget.

Remember that density ranges between 350 and 450 Kg/m^{3} for most soundboard woods. Maple density ranges between 500 and 700 Kg/m^{3}. Rosewood and ebony are much more dense, their density ranging between 800 and 1200 Kg/m^{3}.

If you want to measure the density of a wedge, you can use this one:

If you want to understand how to use wood density to select wood, determine the thickness of the soundbord and the bracing and much more, take a look at the Workshop of acoustics for luthiers page.
