Luz in spanish means light or glow and is a mandolin thought for bluegrass and folk music.  Luz has a particular design, featuring a archtop soundboard and a flat back, providing a sound that is that of an archtop mandolin but with a gentle touch of classical.

Carved spruce soundboard with falcate bracing

Luz has a light, yet resistant soundboard with falcate bracing. This particular design provides high sound throughput, maintaining a good balance between high and low notes

The soundboard of Luz is made of red spruce from Val di Fiemme, seasoned for at least 10 years.

The mandolin is varnished by hand with an oil and resins varnish. Seven layers are applied before the vanish is polished by final hand buffing

The neck features a carbon fiber trussrod, making it very stable and allowing a low action for an optimal fretting feel and playability, in conjunction with the relatively short string length of 340 mm.
